TOPIC – Purpose Beyond Incomes.

MEMORISE: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

BIBLE READING: Colossians 3:20-23

20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

The MESSAGE:

When I became the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1981, God made sure that He stripped me of my financial power. I was the richest member of the church, as I was a senior lecturer at a university. I lived in a mansion in llorin, but God told me to leave the life of affluence I was living so l could focus on His purpose for my life, which is to preach the gospel in towns, villages, cities, and countries. You will agree with me that if I had remained a university lecturer, I wouldn’t have been able to fulfil my God-given purpose to the fullest. I am grateful to God that He has blessed and rewarded me for obeying Him.

My dear child, God’s plans for you go beyond making money. He has promised to give you an expected end; therefore, your career, academics, business, ministry, and every other area of your life should align with God’s calling for your life. Whether you want to practice medicine, art, or business, let God’s glory be your motivation. Seek His guidance in choosing a career that serves others and honours Him. I pray that as you seek His guidance, He will direct you to fulfil your purpose, in Jesus’ name.

KEY POINT:
A fulfilled life isn’t about making money but about fulfilling purpose.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 12:1-27; Deuteronomy 5-7

HYMN 43 – Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us

1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.

2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.

3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
