TOPIC – Does He Know You?.
MEMORISE: I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. John 10:14
BIBLE READING: Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
MESSAGE:
It is a good thing to know God; however, it is better to be known by Him. Today, many Christians read the Bible, go to church, serve in different departments in the church, et etera. They believe that once they do all of these, they will know God. Unfortunately, God does not know them.
To be known by God goes beyond Him being aware of your existence; it is a deep knowledge and acknowledgement of who you are as a result of the relationship that exists between the both of you. For instance, in today’s Bible reading, Jesus said that not everyone who called Him Lord Would enter into the Kingdom of God. He went further to say that some would say that they cast out demons and performed miracles in His name, yet He would call them workers of iniquity.
My dear child, if you want God to truly know you, then you must have an intimate relationship with Him. You must also serve Him with all your might and obey His instructions at all times.
REFLECTION:
Does God truly know you?
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Luke 6:27-49, Joshua 23-24
HYMN 30 – When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.
