Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 19 September 2026 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche
TOPIC: The Secret Of Effortless Results.
SCRIPTURE: And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: for he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. – Luke 7:4-5
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Some people receive more from God in one day than most others receive in a lifetime.
THE MESSAGE:
Our anchor scripture tells part of the story of a certain Roman centurion whose servant was sick and about to die. When he heard of Jesus, he sent the elders of the Jews to Jesus, begging that He would come and heal his servant.
Remember that the centurion was not one of the Pharisees, the scribes, disciples, or people following Christ in the crowd. He was most likely a Gentile, a non-Jew, but he received a miracle without Jesus Christ entering his house. Some people receive more from God in one day than others receive in a lifetime.
The question now is: What was the character of the centurion that made him receive such a blessing from Jesus? What was his character that you need to emulate to be able to get results from God without struggling?
In our study today, we are looking at three of his character traits or secrets.
Heart for people.
Scripture says, … a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him… [Luke 7:2]. His servant was dear unto him. Value for human life is a secret of connection with the mercy of God.
The centurion was a military general who abandoned every other thing to take care of a servant who may likely be a slave. Love in the heart of man provokes the move of God.
The problem of our generation today is the deficiency of love in the hearts of people. We live in a world where men are looking for who to use and not really looking for who to raise or who to help. Beloved, don’t let the day pass until you introduce joy into the life of someone, especially someone who cannot reward you.
Quality relationships.
The centurion sent the elders of the Jews to Jesus on his behalf. There must be a pre-existing relationship between him and the Jewish elders for that to happen.
Now, when Jesus was on the way, coming to his house, the Bible said he sent his friends to meet Jesus on the road. The quality of your relationships determines the level of your results in life.
According to Archbishop Idahosa, “One thousand friends are not enough, but one enemy is too much.” What is the quality of the people in your life? To live alone is to stand alone, and to stand alone is to die alone. And there is no friendship without workmanship. Relationships require workings.
Heart for the Kingdom.
Concerning the centurion, Luke 7:5 say, He loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. Our investment into the Kingdom facilitates our fulfilment on earth. Your seed into the Kingdom will respond to your need when those needs arise. When God’s purpose does not interest you, your problems will not attract His attention.
Where you sow your seed will determine where you get your harvest. “He that soweth to the flesh, of the flesh he will reap frustration; he that soweth to the spirit, of the spirit he will reap satisfaction” [Galatians 6:8]. It is a matter of choice.
Beloved, the secret of effortless results is not how loud you cry to God, but how well your character speaks for you before you even cry. The centurion did not labour to convince Jesus; his heart for people, his quality relationships, and his heart for the Kingdom spoke on his behalf, and Heaven responded without delay.

Some people receive more from God in one day than most others receive in a lifetime
