TOPIC – Can God Boast Of You? (1).
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 3, Jeremiah 4, John 11, John 12.
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Job 1:6-12 (KJV)
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.
7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.Religion & Belief
12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
MEMORY VERSE: For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. – Genesis 18:19 (KJV)
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: God knows His own, not just by title but by content.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP: Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.
PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: I pray that you will be qualified as one of those that God will be proud of, in the Name of Jesus.
THE MESSAGE:
God is always proud of His children, especially those who uncompromisingly take their stand for Him. The Bible tells us that God looks at the hearts of men, not just the outward appearance. Job was a man whom God could boast of, to the extent that God took off His divine protection and allowed satan to afflict him. Yet, in his afflictions, he remained faithful to God. His wife counselled him to curse God and die, his friends were more of critics than comforters. In it all, Job humbly declared, “I know that my Redeemer lives … ” (Job 19:25).
Job saw his sufferings as a moulding process to bring beauty out of the ashes of his life. He declared, “When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). The waiting period was definitely not easy but it ended gloriously. The story of Job ended beautifully with a glorious restoration and multiple blessings in all areas of his life. God’s boast wasn’t in vain over Job, neither can it ever be over any of His children. Abraham was also unflinching in his faith and obedience to God. No wonder God could boast about him, confident that he would teach his children the way of the Lord, as stated in today’s memory verse.
Beloved, can God boast of you? Your faithfulness, obedience and absolute trust in Him will determine that. Will you pass on the godly legacy of God’s goodness and mercy to upcoming generations? If yes, I will advise you keep it up. The divine verdict for lukewarm Christians is that they would be spewed out of God’s mouth. Before you become irritable to God, before you start to stink in His nostrils, before God casts you out of His presence, I implore you now to decide to change for good. God loves obedient and faithful believers. He boasts of them. He will boast of you too, and satan will be put to shame, in the Name of Jesus.
