Open Heaven For Teens 10 October 2026
TOPIC – Protect Your Mind.
MEMORISE: Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established. Proverbs 16:3
READ: Proverbs 4:23-27
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
The MESSAGE:
Today’s Bible reading advises us to guard our hearts diligently because all issues of life come from it. Daily, teenagers face constant influences from social media, friends, and even their own emotions, which makes it imperative for them to protect their hearts. In order to be victorious in your Christian journey, you must filter the contents that you consume and focus on what aligns with God’s word.
Protecting your heart involves being mindful of the music, movies, social media content, and friendships that excite you. In Philippians 4:8, the Bible encourages us to focus on what is true, noble, and praiseworthy. When you surround yourself with positive influences and engage in prayer and studying the word of God, you will maintain a healthy, Christ-centred mindset.
My dear child, I am not saying that you should avoid everyone around you; I’m only emphasising that you should stand firm in faith, be careful, and rely on the Holy Spirit to give you discernment so that your mind can be protected against wolves in sheep’s clothing. May you focus on things that align with God’s word, in Jesus’ name.
KEY POINT: Guard your heart diligently
Bible In One Year: Mark 14:1-25; Deuteronomy 17-19
HYMN: When We Walk With The Lord,
1 When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all
who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
2 Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while
we trust and obey.
3 Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest
if we trust and obey
4 But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them
who will trust and obey.
5 Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk
by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
