Rhapsody Of Realities 20 October 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TOPIC: Christ Jesus—The Ultimate Redeemer.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7).

Today’s MESSAGE:

Redemption is one of the beautiful truths in the Gospel because it reveals not only what Christ accomplished, but also who He is. The Scriptures present the picture of a redeemer as one who has both the legal right and the ability to secure another’s freedom. In the Lord Jesus Christ, we find the perfect and ultimate fulfilment of that picture. He is the Redeemer who paid the full price for our salvation and brought us into everlasting freedom.

In the law of Moses, a kinsman-redeemer could redeem a relative who had fallen into debt or bondage. The redeemer had a legal right to act on behalf of the one in need, but he also had to pay the required price. Freedom wasn’t obtained by mere desire or good intentions; a price had to be paid.

This helps us understand the significance of Christ’s sacrifice. Humanity’s greatest problem was not merely the devil’s oppression; it was the issue of sin. Sin had brought separation from God and placed mankind under judgment. The righteous demands of justice had to be satisfied. A price had to be paid.

What a blessing to know that the Lord Jesus took our place and paid the full price required for our redemption. The payment wasn’t silver or gold; it was His precious blood. The Bible says, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold…But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:18-19).

When He shed His blood, He obtained eternal redemption for us. The debt was settled. The claims against us were satisfied. The penalty of sin was fully addressed. The Lord Jesus paid the price you could never pay. He accomplished what you could never accomplish for yourself.

Through His sacrifice, you’ve been brought into righteousness and fellowship with God. He met every demand of divine justice, paid the full price with His own blood, and secured your eternal liberty. Therefore, live with gratitude and confidence, knowing that your salvation is eternally secure in Him.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the redemption that is mine through the blood of Jesus Christ. I rejoice in the knowledge that the full price for my salvation has been paid. I walk in righteousness, in fellowship with you, and in grateful acknowledgment of the fulfilment of the full blessings of the Gospel in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV) For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, [19] but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Hebrews 9:11-15 (KJV) But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; [12] Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. [13] For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: [14] How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? [15] And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
