TOPIC: Shining As Light At The Top.

SCRIPTURE: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 5:14-16.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your heart for God determines your height in life.

MESSAGE

God never designed His people for mediocrity or obscurity. We are called to shine as light in the topmost places of life so God’s glory can be revealed through us to our generation.

If you want to go to the top, you don’t use the ladder of mediocrity; you climb the ladder of excellence.

When I was a medical student, I normally went to the back of the physiology laboratory of the university to pray during break time. One day, I met a young man there praying too, and I shared a Scripture with him. It set him on fire. I was in 200 level while he was in 300 level. The next day, he invited me to speak to the medical students’ fellowship where he served as president. As the Word came forth, the whole place was ablaze with the power of God. People were dropping under power while I stood preaching on the altar without laying hands on anyone.God’s Unchangeable Standard

Beloved, God wants His people to shine as lights in every sphere of life.

Now, why should we shine as light at the topmost places of life?

To represent God well to our generation.
When believers live in mediocrity and fail to deliver excellently, they misrepresent God to their generation.
To bring souls into the kingdom through our testimony of excellence.
The Christian is the Bible the unbeliever reads. Our lifestyle of excellence can draw people to God.
To bring kingdom influence to institutions and nations.
Systems are influenced from the top down. God wants His people positioned where kingdom influence can be established.
To function as a voice for the kingdom.
God positioned people like Daniel, Joseph, Esther, and Joseph of Arimathea in their generation so they could stand as voices for Him.
What are the keys to shining at the top in life?

I. A heart for God.
Matthew 6:33 says, Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness. Your heart for God determines your height in life.Religion & Belief

ii. Kingdom vision.
This is having a vision to accomplish great things for the sake of the Kingdom.

iii. Upright living.

When you decide to be upright, you are destined to end right up in life.

A Heart for people.
People do not care what you know until they know how much you care.

Beloved, God did not create you to remain hidden; He created you to shine as light at the top so your generation can see His glory through your life.

REMEMBER THIS: Your heart for God determines your height in life.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

Refuse mediocrity and pursue excellence in all you do.
Ask God to make you a true representative of His Kingdom.
Maintain a loving heart for God and for His people.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for calling me to shine as light in my generation. Deliver me from mediocrity and help me to walk in excellence, uprightness, and kingdom influence. Let my life bring honour and glory to Your Name, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
