TOPIC – The Voice Of God Is Powerful.
READ: John 5:24-29
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,Explore Faiths
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
THE MESSAGE:
Psalm 29:3 tells us that the voice of the LORD is upon many waters. The voice of the LORD is the rhema word (the revealed Word of Scripture). We also know that water represents the Word of God (Ephesians 5:26). We come to the written Word to hear Him. It is as we hear Him that we are strengthened and nourished. Whenever God speaks, there is power to perform, for where the word of the king is, there is power (Ecclesiastes 8:4). “The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars, yes, cedars of Lebanon, it divides the flames of fire, it shakes the wilderness and makes the deer give birth” (Psalm 29:5-9).
In our text for today, we see also that the voice of God raises the dead and all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth (as in the case of Lazarus). If you will labour to hear God’s word, whatever has died and is in the grave in your life, family and career, can come forth. The Word of God can come alive over your situation, as you trust God and believe in His Word. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life” (verse 24).
PRAYER: O LORD, let all that is dead in me and around me hear Your voice today and come forth in Jesus’ Name.
